Dr Christina Ferry BDS MJDF RCS
Principle Dentist
Christina Ferry qualified from Glasgow university with commendation in 2008. She later graduated from the Royal College of Surgeon England with MJDF in 2012.
She joined Rutherglen HC Dental in 2012, when the original owner Therese MacLeod retired in 2016 Christina took over the practice & has spent recent years modernising and developing the practice to further improve patients experiences.
Christina is passionate about family dental care. Having two young child she knows how important it is to create an friendly, relaxed environment for children so that they have the best possible experiences & develop lifelong positive attitudes towards their dental health.
Aside from clinical dentistry Christina is heavily involved in dental politics both on a local level in Lanarkshire and on a national level. She is currently vice chair of Lanarkshire Local Dental committee, Chair elect of Scottish conference of LDC’s, a member of Lanarkshire Dental Advisory committee, Lanarkshire Quality improvement committee & Scottish Dental Practice Committee. Involvement at this level means the practice is kept up to date with all policies and procedures, which has been particularly important during the covid pandemic.
Outside dentistry Christina can be found spending time with her husband Stewart & their young kids Iona & Oran. She loves running, skiing, going to the gym & baking (all dentally approved of course!).
Dr Stewart Nicolson BDS
Principle Dentist
Stewart qualified as a dentist from Glasgow in 2004. Since qualifying he has worked in the west end of Glasgow for 6 years before buying a practice in 2011. He sold the practice in 2020 to come and work alongside his wife so they could spend more time with their two children Iona and Oran.
When he’s not being kept busy by his children he loves snow boarding, cooking pizza outdoor for the family and watching the NFL which he will happily bore you with you details of.
Dr Hayley Moss BDS (Hons) MFDS 2021
Associate Dentist
Hayley graduated from the University of Glasgow with Honours and has gone on to achieve MFDS with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow. She is also undertaking a part time MSc in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Edinburgh.
Hayley really enjoys helping patients get their smile confidence back and creating a relaxed and friendly environment in the dental surgery.
When not working Hayley enjoys keeping active with a yoga class or a countryside walk. She likes going to see live music, playing piano and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr Katie Ireland BDS
Associate Dentist
Katie graduated from Dundee University in 2017. She has experience of working in a few different practices before her time at RHC Dental.
She enjoys the varied nature of general dental practice. She likes to create a relaxed environment for her patients and enjoys getting to know everyone.
Outwith work Katie is a keen runner and enjoys yoga. She loves socialising with friends and exploring new places.
Dr Samantha Byrne BsC
Hygiene-Therapist
Samantha studied at Glasgow Dental Hospital from 2013 and graduated in 2016 with merit as a Dental Hygiene Therapist.
Samantha particularly enjoys working with patients that have advanced periodontal needs and giving them the confidence to achieve a healthy mouth. She also loves working with children and those patients with more complex needs. One day Samantha would love to go back to university to further specialise in periodontal or paediatric care. Samantha is also an advocate for the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Samantha lives locally with her partner and her Cavapoo Sunday. With any spare she has she loves going to spin class and is can always be found having a spot of brunch or walking in Glasgow at the weekend with friends.
Deborah McGourty
Reception Manager
Debbie has been with the practice for nearly 20 years, starting out as dental nurse & working up to reception manager, so there’s not much she doesn’t know about dentistry! On reception she can usually be found trying to “magic” space in the dentists diaries to accommodate all our lovely patients!
Debbie loves making sure everything is organised so that patients have a positive experience.
Outside of dentistry Debbie loves to spend time with her daughter Chloe, husband James & their two dogs Poppy & Coco. Rest assured at a practice night out, Debbie is the life and soul of the party!
Lisa Kelly
Head Dental Nurse
Lisa qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2013 and being super organised has worked her way up to head dental nurse. She oversees the day to day running of the surgeries & training of our apprentice dental nurses.
Lisa’s favourite part of being a dental nurse is making patient’s feel welcome and relaxed in a dental environment.
Outside work Lisa enjoy’s spending time with her young daughter Georgia, her husband Danny and her 2 older step kids Kaitlyn and Owen. Lisa really enjoy’s going on family outing’s and long walks with their dog Teddy. She also love’s spending time with her sister’s and friends going for lunch.
Lynsey Merriman
Dental Nurse
Lynsey joined the practice as a trainee in 2009 and loved it so much she never left! Qualifying in 2011 Lynsey is primarily Christina’s nurse having worked with her for over 9 years - aka the “dream team”.
Lynsey is very patient and organised, and is great at putting patients at ease.
Outside of work Lynsey can be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen & spending time with her partner Craig & their two dogs.
Amber Hay
Dental Nurse
Amber qualified in 2020 having trained with the practice for 2 years.
Her favourite part about being a dental nurse is working with all the lovely children that come into the practice, chatting and reassuring all of our patients.
In her spare time she loves to spend time with family and friends including her young brother and sister. She also like to go out shopping and have lovely meals at new restaurants.
